Art and Heritage Center

The Art & Heritage Center (AHC) is a hub for arts, culture, and history in Windsor, Colorado. The AHC hosts a number of exhibits and programs throughout the year, and aspires to increase cultural opportunities for the Windsor community.

Exhibits hosted by the Art & Heritage Center are open Thursdays through Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Rent the Art & Heritage Center
Looking for an elegant and unique location for your next meeting or party? The Art & Heritage Center is available for rental and will accommodate up to 140 standing people. Located in the old 1909 town hall, the Art & Heritage Center is in the heart of downtown Windsor. The building’s charming original characteristics including pressed tin ceiling and oak floors compliment a stunning view of Windsor Lake creating the perfect background for your upcoming event.

Community Lens: From the Wild Side

September 21 - November 19
Art & Heritage Center, 116 5th St., Windsor, CO

Regional amateur and professional photographers have filled the Windsor Art and Heritage Center with unique images that reflect the theme "From the Wild Side."  From nature to people, to places and the abstract, "From the Wild Side" will inspire you to get out and experience your wild side!

An opening and awards reception for artists, friends and the public will be held on Friday, September 22nd from 6:00-7:30.  Complimentary beer from High Hops Brewery and light refreshments will be served while supplies last.

The exhibit is sponsored by High Hops Brewery and Columbine Health Systems.

Hours:Thursdays-Sundays, 12-4 p.m.

'Native American Experience'
June 14 - September 3

Children and adults alike traveled back in time and learned about the daily life of Plains Indians through play in this interactive traveling exhibit.  Visitors were able to "cook" fresh trout over a cooking fire, experience what it was like to live in a tipi, grind corn, and beat an elk skin drum. 

'Nature of Quilts' 
May 10 - June 3
Nature's beauty took on a whole new meaning in this unique exhibition of modern quilted artwork by regional fiber artists.  From plants and animals to landscapes, these works of art provided a new perspective on nature and quilting.

'Trees Color our Town' 
April 12 - April 29
An exhibition of Arbor Day posters and poetry by Windsor K-5 students showcase the importance of trees in our community. Winning poetry and poster submissions will be selected for the annual Windsor Arbor Day Calendar. 

Spring Book Sale

March 31 - April 8

An opportunity to stock your bookshelf with new reads. Most books cost between $1 and $2, a price that cannot be beat. Adult and children's books available. Sponsored by the Clearview Library District Foundation.

'eARTh' Exhibit Spring Book Sale
February 22 - March 18

Artists Suzette McIntyre, Toby Baker, Annie Surbeck and Susan Nelson combined their diverse styles to create an exhibit illuminating the profound effects of nature's artistic energy.

Repurposed: A Second Look, A Second Life

January 11 - February 11
Creative reuse has changed the way we look at "rubbish" and art. The Town of Windsor Museum housed transformed junk into works of art and alternative use items in this unique exhibition.

'REFLECTION' Juried Art Exhibition 

October 12 - November 12, 2016
With a theme based on the poetry of Henry David Thoreau, "REFLECTION" brings together the best artists from across the region. This juried art competition is made possible by Suzette McIntyre and the Boardwalk Park Gallery of Windsor. Winners of the exhibition will be published in a book of poetry and art. 

'Waiting for Woo Ping' by Nick Ng

August 3, 2016 - September 10, 2016
The art of Nick Ng features a fusion of Chinese pop culture and Eurasian influences, a juxtaposition of freedom and restriction. Ng uses collage to bring texture, bold colors to bring life, and vivid images to impress thought.

A juried art competition made possible by Suzette McIntyre and the Boardwalk Gallery of Windsor featuring various artist from across the front range of Colorado and Wyoming.
